First and foremost we want to thank you for expressing interest in being a vendor for RAGBRAI. We are extremely excited about RAGBRAI coming to Sigourney on July 26th. We are expecting 15,000-20,000 RAGBRAI participants to spend the night. Feeding that many people is no small job. We will need many non-profit organizations and businesses to make this a success. Our goal is for every vendor to be successful!

FEES: There will be a $200 non-profit fee and a $800 fee for profit vendors. All non-profit vendors must provide an IRS Letter of Exemption 501(c) (3).

Checks should be made payable to: Sigourney RAGBRAI and mailed to 100 N. Main St. Sigourney, IA 52591

LOCATION: The food vendors will all be located in and along the city square. ALL vendors will be assigned their space. Each vendor will allowed a 10'x20’ space. You may purchase more than one space if needed, please indicate how much space you will need. Please note, we will do our absolute best to try to accommodate everyone.

ACCEPTANCE: The Sigourney RAGBRAI Committee reserves the right to deny any application based on need, space, and the vendor's intent.

PRICING:  It will be up to each vendor to set their own prices. It is highly recommended by RAGBRAI to have a discount for the registered riders and those wearing the official Sigourney RAGBRAI shirts. For example, it could be a free drink or dessert, or a $1 off the meal. All registered RAGBRAI participants will have a wristband. You will need to list your prices on the application. You may NOT increase your prices for RAGBRAI.

FOOD SAFETY: Food safety is an absolute must when feeding this many people. Contingent on your approval as a vendor, you will also need a Temporary Food Service Establishment License. You can get the license from the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. There is a $35 fee for the license. If you do not send your temporary license in with your Sigourney RAGBRAI application, you will be excluded as a vendor.

INSURANCE: All vendors will need to provide proof of liability insurance included with their application.

HOURS: Some of the RAGBRAI participants will start arriving around 10 a.m. Most of the participants will arrive by 2 p.m. All vendors must be setup by 8 a.m. This will allow enough time for everyone to be inspected. Because all vendors will be in or around the city square (the beverage garden), no one will be allowed to break down until after 2 a.m. This is for everyone’s safety.

ELECTRICITY: ALL VENDORS WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN POWER. Model and size of generator must be specified on application due to placement of the space.

ICE: Will be available to purchase.

CLEAN-UP: All vendors will be expected to clean up their areas before leaving. Trash cans will be provided to help. There is a $100 clean up deposit. If your area is clean you will get your $100 deposit back.

SIGNAGE: All vendors are responsible for their own signs. The signs must be easy to read. You will also need a sign to post if and when you run out of food/supplies. Sigourney RAGBRAI will give each vendor an official RAGBRAI permit. The permit must be visible at all times.

PRE-MEETING: Once you have been approved as a vendor, you will be contacted regarding a pre-meeting. The meeting will be held in July. The meeting will cover parking, set up, and other information. It is VERY important that you attend.
